Jan-Willem Polman (1970) is a yachtsman, entrepreneur and mechanical engineer specialized in plastics technology. Between 2008 and 2010 he sailed around the world with his wife and two young children. After that trip he quit his corporate career and started a number of companies specialized in yachting ropes. He furthermore teaches splicing techniques for modern ropes in workshops and online videos. Jan-Willem has designed the D-Splicer splicing needles, which are now used by sailors and riggers worldwide.
