Evolution - Jugendliteraturpreis

‘Evolution, oder Das Rätsel von allem, was lebt', the German edition of our multi-award winning non-fiction book The Mystery of Life (Het raadsel van alles wat leeft) by Jan Paul Schutten and Floor Rieder, has been nominated for the Jugendliteraturpreis 2015. The winner will be announced during the Frankfurt Book Fair in October.

The book, which was published by Gerstenberg Verlag, is nominated in the category Sachbucher: non-fiction children’s books. In total, a number of 30 books are nominated, divided under 5 categories: picture books, children’s books , youth books, non-fiction books and the Jugendjury selection. The books in the first four catagories are selected by a jury of adult critics, the books in the latter by a jury consisting of 100 young German readers who participate in one of the 6 national book clubs.


Jugendliteraturpreis - The Mystery of LifeThe Mystery of Life is one of four Dutch/Flemish nominees for this year’s prize. Other nominees from the Low Countries include Annemarie van Haeringen with Coco of het kleine zwarte jurkje, Edward Van de Vendel and Mattias De Leeuw with Dertien rennende hertjes and Michael De Cock and Judith Vanistendael with Rosie en Moussa - De brief van papa. We want to congratulate all authors, illustrators and publishers, Jan Paul Schutten, Floor Rieder and Gerstenberg Verlag in particular, with their nominations and look forward to the award ceremony in October!
